Support the Technology That Powers Manufacturing
We are seeking a technically capable and analytically driven Power BI and Network Systems Administrator to support and enhance the IT infrastructure behind our heavy-haul trailer manufacturing operations.
This role blends:
- Network and infrastructure administration
- Business intelligence development and reporting
- ERP-related integrations and workflow automation
- Practical use of modern AI-enabled productivity tools
You will be part of a collaborative 3-person IT team and report directly to the IT Manager, supporting both plant and corporate operations. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work while contributing to meaningful operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Network Support
- Administer and maintain plant and corporate network infrastructure (Cisco switches, VLANs, firewalls)
- Support segmented shop-floor networks and connectivity
- Manage Ubiquiti wireless environments supporting production devices
- Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware ESX or equivalent)
- Administer Active Directory and Azure AD (user access, security groups, group policy)
- Support Microsoft 365 and user provisioning
- Ensure reliability and uptime of systems critical to manufacturing operations
Business Intelligence & Reporting (Core Focus)
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards supporting:
- Production metrics and throughput
- Work order tracking and scheduling
- Inventory management
- Cost and margin analysis
- Sales reporting and forecasting
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and reporting views
- Maintain SSRS reports and scheduled operational reports
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to translate business needs into dashboards
- Support workflow automation using Power Apps and Power Automate
Systems Integration & Automation
- Maintain integrations (VB.NET/VBA/VB6 and REST APIs)
- Assist with ERP-related system enhancements
- Support EDI and vendor/customer data exchanges
- Document reporting logic and system integrations
AI & Emerging Technology
- Support implementation of Microsoft Copilot tools to improve reporting and productivity
- Assist with Microsoft Fabric and modern data architecture initiatives
- Leverage AI tools for report generation, trend analysis, and process insights
- Maintain appropriate data governance and security standards
Operational Support
- Assist with escalated help desk issues
- Provide support to plant and office personnel, both on-site and in remote locations
- Support workstations, printers, scanners, and shopfloor devices
- Collaboration with Managed IT and Managed security vendors
What Success Looks Like (12 Months)
- Stable, reliable plant network operations
- Improved production and financial reporting dashboards
- Increased automation of routine reporting tasks
- Well-documented system architecture and integrations
Required Experience
- Active Directory and Azure AD administration
- Cisco networking experience
- Virtualization platforms (VMware or equivalent)
- Advanced SQL skills
- Power BI and SSRS experience
- Power Apps and Power Automate
- Experience with REST-based integrations
- Comfortable supporting both office and production-floor users
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
- ERP system exposure
- Experience integrating operational and financial data
Shift Availability
- Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Onsite in Leduc, AB
