Trillium Health Partners, Neuro/MSK Health System, has an immediate opportunity for an Intraoperative Technologist. Job Description The Neurophysiology Technologist will be responsible for performing intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring to ensure the safety of patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves working closely with surgeons and anesthesia teams to monitor and interpret neurophysiological data in real-time.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Biological Science (Kinesiology and Neuroscience) strongly required
  • Master degree in Health Sciences, Biological Sciences (Kinesiology and Neuroscience) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology preferred.
  • Proven experience in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, including familiarity with various monitoring modalities (e.g., SSEP, MEP, EMG) preferred.
  • Certification as a Neurophysiological Monitoring Technologist (CNIM) preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly to intraoperative changes.
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills combined with effective problem solving abilities

Position Summary

  • Responsible for performing routine and specialized testing procedures including SSEP, EMG, BAEP, and MEP to ensure CNS function in patients undergoing neurosurgical, orthopedic, and vascular procedures
  • Set up and calibrate monitoring equipment, ensuring proper functionality throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to provide timely and accurate data on neurophysiological changes.
  • Interpret monitoring data and provide real-time feedback to the surgical team to mitigate potential risks.
  • Document and report neurophysiological findings and any significant changes during the procedure.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Stay current with advancements in IONM techniques and technologies.
  • Maintains a safe work environment for co-workers, patients and visitors.
  • Collaborate with other team members to optimize use of available resources.
  • Support a customer-focused environment.
