SB Partners LLP is a full-service Chartered Professional Public Accounting firm located in Burlington, Ontario. Our primary client base is entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses, corporate subsidiaries, and not-for-profit organizations.

We’re seeking a strategic, innovative, and results-oriented Senior Manager to lead Marketing & Communications at the firm. This role is ideal for a visionary communicator and business builder who is passionate about crafting impactful narratives that elevate brand presence, drive engagement, and unlock growth opportunities.

Purpose of the position:
The Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications is responsible for executing strategic marketing, communications, and business development initiatives aligned with the firm’s goals. The Senior Manager will collaborate across service lines to drive client acquisition, retention, and engagement, and supports internal communications and training. Additionally, this role guides the creation of digital content, thought leadership, and business development materials to enhance brand visibility and growth.

Given the need to develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm and strong internal relationships, the role requires a regular in-office presence—typically at least three days per week.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Utilize market data and firm knowledge to develop and implement annual marketing and communications strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing, communications and business development initiatives, and make recommendations for updates/changes.
  • Forecast, implement, and manage the department’s operating budget.
  • Collaborate with Service Lines to establish and execute strategies that focus on the client experience as well as client acquisition and retention.
  • Develop and implement community sponsorship and engagement strategies.
  • Manage existing community relationships, while seeking new partnerships that align with firm goals.
  • Oversee key business development projects such as proposals, pitch decks etc
  • Work with the team to advance their business development, networking and marketing skills.
  • Development and execution of department related training; communications, networking, LinkedIn Branding etc.
  • Manage the firm’s website, social media channels, and overall digital footprint, delegating tasks within the team while maintaining final approval.
  • Develop engaging, content-based promotional and thought leadership materials.
  • Support with internal communications to keep teams informed of firm and industry related updates.
  • Maintain the firm’s brand guide, and all the associated assets.
  • Managing the on-boarding of marketing team members and participate in the onboarding of all new hires.
  • Leading performance management and growth and development of the marketing team.
  • Manage vendor / partner / agency relationships including tracking performance, establishing goals, and measuring return on investment.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors including designers, printers, copywriters, print media etc.
  • Manage the firm’s compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field required.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in marketing required.
  • 3+ years of experience managing marketing department and teams.
  • Flexibility to attend events outside of the standard 9-5
  • Demonstrable achievement in supporting business development objectives.
  • Robust business writing skills, with high proficiency in editing.
  • Excellent communication, project management, networking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Advanced understanding of marketing strategy, planning, budget planning, brand management etc
  • Experience with corporate social media.
  • Fluency with marketing and communication tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • Knowledge of how to perform website updates using a content management system (e.g. WordPress).
  • Proficiency with data analysis and reporting for various marketing activities and ROI, client data trends, etc.
  • Experience with event management and networking.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with graphic design.
