The Opportunity:

The Social Designer plays an instrumental role in our Paid Social team, reporting to the Manager, Paid Social Strategy. They are responsible for shaping the visual and narrative identity across social platforms by crafting engaging graphics, animations, and creator style content tailored for social channels. Collaborating closely with production, content, and advertising teams, as well as external partners, they will ensure consistency and excellence in all social media outputs. By interpreting marketing objectives and transforming insights into impactful visuals and storytelling, the Social Designer will help elevate our brand presence and drive engagement. Their expertise in the latest social media trends and commitment to platform specific best practices will inform innovative content-delivering dynamic, sharable assets that embody the brand and connect authentically with social users.

What You Will Do:

Execute creative solutions in line with brand guidelines

  • Design and produce engaging visual content tailored for social platforms (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn carousels, YouTube Shorts).

  • Optimize creative assets for mobile-first viewing and vertical formats.

  • Monitor social media trends and adapt visual content to stay culturally relevant and timely.

  • Create reactive content that aligns with financial news, market movements, or investor sentiment.

  • Translate complex financial concepts into digestible, visually compelling content for Core and DIY investors.

  • Use motion graphics, infographics, and short-form video to simplify investment topics.

  • Collaborate with analytics teams to review engagement metrics and iterate on creative based on performance data.

  • A/B test visual formats, styles, and messaging to optimize for reach and retention.

  • Maintain organized libraries of editable templates, brand assets, and platform-specific design kits.

  • Stay up to date with the latest design tools and social media publishing platforms.

Consistently apply the Fidelity and Investly brand across different mediums

  • Adhere to brand guidelines to maintain consistent and effective communication of complex data across various social platforms and YouTube

  • Adapt brand elements creatively for platform-specific formats (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn carousels, YouTube Shorts) while maintaining core identity

  • Design and produce engaging, mobile-optimized visual content tailored to each platform’s audience and behavior.

  • Develop reusable templates and design systems for rapid content deployment across paid social campaigns.

  • Develop a cohesive visual identity across all materials.

  • Provide clear explanations and rationale for design methods and decisions, including detailed design notes.

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and development of social assets for Fidelity, Investly, and emerging business line brands.

Maintain and ensure quality control measures are in place

  • Ensuring brand guidelines are followed and there are no errors in the final delivery of design work

  • Work closely with the Production team, particularly in addressing pre- and post-production issues and coordinating the execution of design projects.

  • Ensure all design work before submitting for review is at the highest quality and adherence to brand standards.

The Expertise You Bring:

  • Advanced proficiency within Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and Adobe Express to create, but not limited to, videos, motion graphics, charts, etc.

  • A keen eye for detail needed to produce high-quality work and an understanding of continuous improvement philosophies

  • Strong grasp of visual storytelling and simplifying complex financial topics

  • Experience video editing for short-form content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)

  • Self-starter and fast learner with the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively

  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and open to creative direction and design feedback

  • Knowledge of best practices for typography, colour, social layouts and visual hierarchy across social platforms

  • Deep knowledge of platform-specific best practices and understanding content formats and algorithm dynamics

  • Ability to work proficiently within workflow system platform and project tracking tools to meet deadlines in an ever-changing environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • College degree, preferably with a focus on digital and social media design, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated design experience within corporate and/or agency environment required
  • Experience producing content creator (“influencer style”) assets
  • Experience with animation, i.e. motion and video graphics
  • Experience producing advertising assets e.g. social media posts, short form video ads
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud and MS Office required
  • Experience in financial services, retail, or related industries, an asset
  • Extensive experience producing social media content across all platforms
  • Working knowledge of French language is an asset
  • Experience working in Adobe Express is an asset
  • Experience working with data and research to elevate creative is an asset
