Grade 6 Probationary Teacher – Division II Numeracy Lead

Livingstone Range School Division invites applications for a full-time Grade 6 Probationary Division II Numeracy Lead teaching position at Livingstone Range School Division, located at West Meadow Elementary School in Claresholm.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will serve as both a Grade 6 classroom teacher and Division II Numeracy Lead. This role involves providing engaging numeracy instruction while supporting school-wide numeracy development through collaboration, instructional leadership, and evidence-based teaching practices.

The Numeracy Lead will:

• Support and promote effective numeracy instruction across Division II classrooms
• Collaborate with teachers to strengthen mathematics programming and assessment practices
• Analyze student achievement data to inform instructional decisions
• Assist in the development and implementation of school numeracy goals
• Model innovative and differentiated instructional strategies
• Foster a positive learning environment focused on student growth and achievement

Qualifications and Requirements

Preferred candidates will demonstrate:

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certification or eligibility for certification
• Strong understanding of Alberta curriculum and numeracy outcomes
• Experience teaching upper elementary mathematics and numeracy intervention strategies
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and inclusive learning practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a professional learning community
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to student-centered learning and positive school culture
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Leadership experience or demonstrated capacity to support colleagues in numeracy instruction is considered an asset
• Familiarity with the Leader in Me framework is considered an asset
