Permacon is a leading North American manufacturer of concrete products serving the landscaping and masonry markets. The company operates eight production facilities across Quebec and Ontario and employs more than 300 people throughout its various sites. Permacon is a division of Oldcastle® Architectural.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor for our Metcalfe plant located at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring excellence in his sector in terms of leadership, employees coaching and development, occupational health and safety, productivity, product quality, equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance program as well as the cleanliness and tidying of the areas.

Job Responsibilities

Supervise the hourly employees Master and apply the collective agreement; Participate in OHS and maintenance activities; Issue work permits; Lead daily and weekly meetings; Account for hours worked and manage employee schedules; Ensure compliance with discipline and OHS standards in the plant; Provide training to employees; Ensure product quality by carrying out routine inspections; Conduct weekly, monthly and annual OHS inspections; Participate in inventory count; Communicate with suppliers when required; Produce incident reports; Optimize key performance indicator; Participate in the continuous improvement of operations; Manage emergency situations (machine breakdown, need for labor, incidents); Be present on the plant floor and ensure the smooth running of operations and positive leadership; Mobilize the team of plant employees; Collaborate on an ad hoc basis with the recruitment coordinator for interviews.

Qualifications And Job Requirements

High school diploma or diploma in a relevant technical field; Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; Demonstrated strong leadership and coaching skills; Strong communication skills; Team player Initiative and sense of urgency; Attention to detail and precision; Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; Knowledge of or having worked with an ERP system.

Job Compensation/Benefits
