Role Overview The Manager, Corporate Partnerships plays an important role in advancing Diabetes Canada’s (DC) mission by driving corporate fundraising efforts and meeting annual revenue goals. This role focuses on maintaining existing partnerships and exploring new opportunities that align with the objectives of the Corporate Fund Development program.
Location: Diabetes Canada’s national office is at 1000–170 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. We offer a flexible work arrangement, allowing employees to work remotely while occasionally coming into the office as required by their manager or the organization.
Strategic Involvement This role includes, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with internal partners to develop and execute strategic and annual business plans aligned with fundraising goals.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities in corporate engagement, and implement targeted solicitation plans to achieve new partnership commitments.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for DC within the corporate sector.
Relationship Management
- Manage a portfolio of partners leveraging “Moves Management” phases and stewardship activities to secure new, and grow current, corporate partnerships to meet or exceed annual revenue targets; Cultivate and maintain strong, value-driven relationships with current and prospective corporate partners.
- Foster collaboration across national teams to support shared organizational objectives.
- Ensure proactive, transparent communication with internal and external partners to maximize mutual benefit.
Operational Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of corporate prospects, sponsors and supporters using the customer relationship management (CRM) system and shared platforms.
- Partner with Marketing & Communications to craft compelling proposals and presentations tailored to corporate audiences.
- Conduct research and prepare briefing materials on corporate prospects and sector growth opportunities.
- Stay informed on corporate giving trends and integrate insights into fundraising strategies.
- Use data and program/event metrics to develop impactful sponsorship and donation proposals.
The Ideal Candidate Possesses
- Post-secondary degree in business, communication, marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in corporate fundraising, business development or sales/marketing within the non-profit sector.
- Demonstrated success in building influential relationships and securing corporate support.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills including confident presentation delivery.
- Strong interpersonal and persuasive abilities.
- Deep understanding of corporate philanthropy, sponsorships and fund development principles; is an asset.
- Proven negotiation and sales skills with a track record of closing deals.
- Proficiency in CRM software.
- Ability to build and prioritize partner relationships across departments.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Agile and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
