Job Description
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Intern to join us for a 4 or 8-month internship at our Toronto office.
The Hitachi Rail Urban Rail Signaling is a global business line with over 800 Engineers in multiple centers (Canada, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Middle East and more), and its core located in Toronto, Canada. It has approximately 5000 Engineers spanning Systems, Hardware, Software and IVVQ Engineering Disciplines, plus specialty engineering such as Cyber, Data, AI (Artificial Intelligence), Safety and RAMT.
The Business Intelligence Intern’s main responsibility is to design, build and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) reports and dashboards supporting the Engineering organization’s objectives.
Key Accountabilities

Produce and maintain dashboards that analyze performance and operations of the Engineering department(DOORS - Requirements Management; Bitbucket– Software Development; Clearquest/SharedPalma – Configuration Management, Technical Debt)

Legacy Budget estimation and maintenance
-
Produce Software Gate inputs
- Semi-automate SW release works for legacy projects
- Organize and manage ZC-SW daily tasks & assignment

Experience with Jira & SCRUm management

Experience with Scripting such as Python
Key Requirements
- The successful candidate should be working towards a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Business Administration, Business Analysis, or Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fluent in English both in written and oral communication
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Experienced in preparing and giving presentations
- Experienced in producing Dashboards
- Experienced in UI/UX Design and Data Analysis
- The ability to work 40 hours a week in a hybrid environment for the duration of the internship is essential. At least 2 days a week in the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Co-op student available for a 4 or 8 month term, with at least one additional quarter or semester of coursework remaining after the completion of the internship.
- Previous coop work experience is an asset. Relevant school projects may be considered.
- Basic experience with scripting languages like Perl and Python.
