Pre-approved OT hours paid as double-time, $90.62/hour

Hours : 7 hours per day, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities: In this position, you will:

  • Gather detailed user requirements for development tasks
  • Prepare solution documentation with detailed resource and completion estimates
  • Develop solutions utilizing modern coding methodologies and technologies
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress for other team colleagues
  • Provide mentorship to team colleagues on the utilization of our district technology toolsets
  • Establish standards and procedures and write specifications, scripts and documentation for technical architecture and systems
  • Prepare and execute detailed plans for complex multi-functional projects
  • Research and analyze emerging trends in technology and systems architecture, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations
  • Define and implement standard procedures and best practices
  • Provide support, direction and apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to address escalated issues
  • Develop and deliver training workshops for technical and end user audiences
  • Liaise with stakeholders, LIT teams, vendors, contractors and other third parties as required to support district services
  • Prepare maintenance and communication plans for district services to ensure they remain fit for purpose
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to service stakeholders and colleagues on service solutions and technical environments
  • Perform information technology support to the Division
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of grade 12 plus more than 2 years of full time equivalent post-secondary education in a relevant technology discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years' progressive experience in information technology
  • Experience working in a K-12 education organization an asset
  • Advanced skills in data architecture and full-cycle development of web and mobile applications—from requirements to deployment
  • Experienced in configuring and managing Office 365 Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps), building and maintaining data gateways, and designing and developing applications using current versions of C#, ASP.NET Framework/.NET Core, jQuery, PowerShell and other relevant programming languages
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in designing/delivering presentations
  • Must be able to meet the following assessment: Hands-on 1 hour series of tasks/problems (70%+)

Compensation The base salary for this position is $82,464 plus a comprehensive benefits package, including Municipal Pension Plan, Vancouver Employee Savings Plan, Extended Health, Dental, Group Life, Long Term Disability, Vacation, & Gratuity Days. Pre-approved overtime hours are paid as double-time ($90.62/hour).
