In partnership with Metrolinx, ACCIONA is playing a key role in the design and construction of the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE), a 9.2-kilometre westward addition to Toronto’s Line 5 light rail transit network. This major infrastructure project includes seven new stations and installation of rail and systems under a progressive design-build model. Beyond its technical scope, the ECWE project represents a significant investment in sustainable urban mobility, expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5,800 tonnes annually and eliminate over 6.5 million vehicle trips each year when combined with the full Line 5. The Construction Quality Control Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that construction activities meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications by implementing robust quality control, inspections and testing processes. The Construction Quality Control Manager also helps to minimize risks, enhance project outcomes, and deliver a high-quality project. Job Description Develop, review, and execute the Inspection and Test Plans. Managing and supervising Construction Quality Control Staff and ensuring that the team members have the required qualifications and experience to undertake the quality control requirements as set out in the Construction Quality Management Plan. Supporting the Construction Quality Control Staff through training and continual improvement. Collaborate with project management, engineering, and site teams to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence. Ensuring laboratory accreditations and certifications are maintained in accordance with the provisions of the Project DMCA Schedule 11 Review and authorize quality-related documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and quality assurance records. Evaluate test outcomes to confirm compliance with project specifications and standards Maintaining comprehensive and accurate of inspection and testing records. Identifying quality deficiencies, issue Non-Conformances and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented effectively and in a timely manner. Conducting External Quality Audits on subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standard. Participate in the Quality Working Group meetings and providing timely and relevant quality control updates. Provide updates to the Monthly Quality Management System reports. Stay informed about industry trends, updates to regulations, and emerging quality control practices to enhance project performance and compliance. Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to the quality control requirements, contractual obligations, and Project Agreement specifications. Offer guidance and support to the subcontractors in resolving quality issues and enhancing their performance. Generate periodic progress reports highlighting quality control activities, achievements, challenges, and milestones for stakeholder review. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess quality control effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Required Skills and Competencies Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor is strongly preferred. Experience as a Construction Quality Control Manager within the field of rail and transit, transportation, and infrastructure projects of similar size, complexity, and contractual value to this Project. Has prior experience with or knowledge of the CAIS Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications, CAIT Manual Requirements, Ontario Provincial Standards Specifications, COT, and MTO standards. Thorough understanding of construction methods, procedures and standards. Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Strong ability to develop, implement, and maintain Quality Control procedures and protocols. Skilled in performing quality audits and inspections across construction activities. Proven leadership ability to manage, mentor, and guide Quality Control teams effectively. Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with other stakeholders. Experience in identifying quality issues, determining root causes, and proposing corrective actions. Proficiency with relevant software tools and technology such as Microsoft Office Suite. ____________________ This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $160,000.00 – $180,000.00 CAD, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
