Sc.wén̓wen Economic Development Corp. (SEDC) is seeking a dynamic and strategic professional to lead major commercial development initiatives for Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS). This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning ideas into reality by coordinating expert teams, building strong partnerships, and delivering large-scale projects that create lasting economic benefits for the community.
About the Role:
The Economic Development Strategist – Commercial Developments & Partnerships will:
- Oversee the completion of Chief Louis Crossing and lead the planning, model selection, and implementation of Chief Louis Centre East in alignment with the Comprehensive Community Plan.
- Work closely with consultants, contractors, and project managers; guiding the process from concept to implementation while ensuring projects are on time, on budget, and aligned with community priorities.
- Collaborate with the Economic Development Strategist – Tourism & Business Retention and Expansion on projects that connect tourism and commercial development (e.g., a Hotel & Conference Centre).
- Build and manage strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and investment opportunities to diversify revenue streams for SEDC.
- Support integration of new developments into SEDC’s property portfolio in coordination with the Property Administrator.
This role is not about hands-on design or lease negotiation. It is about strategic oversight, partnership building, and leading through expert teams to deliver transformative projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, economics, project management, real estate development, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience), with 5 years relevant experience.
- 3-5 years’ progressive experience in commercial real estate development, capital project coordination, or related fields preferred.
- Proven ability to manage projects through consultants and contractors, from procurement to completion.
- Strong financial and business analysis skills, including feasibility studies and business planning.
- Experience developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and investment relationships.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
- PMP designation or similar project management certification is an asset

HOURS OF WORK:
Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as required.
PAY:
$41.50-$45.25/hour
