##Position Description
The Mechanical Technical Trainer develops and delivers training for mechanical maintenance and operations employees. This role ensures staff are equipped with the mechanical knowledge, SOP understanding, and safety competency required for reliable and safe operation of equipment. Fully onsite and hands‑on, this role supports Modine’s strong health and safety culture and is ideal for experienced employees who are passionate about developing others.
##Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver mechanical training programs using classroom instruction, hands‑on exercises, and competency assessments.
- Develop and maintain training materials including manuals, presentations, SOPs, JHAs and demos.
- Provide required mechanical safety training (LOTO, machine guarding, confined space awareness, safe tool use, hazard recognition).
- Train employees on standards, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Coach employees directly on the production floor to ensure application of mechanical skills in real environments.
- Support mechanical troubleshooting to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, Quality and Operations to ensure training reflects current practices and equipment requirements.
- Help standardize mechanical procedures across shifts and teams.
- Conduct competency checks and evaluations to confirm readiness for independent work.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, certifications, and compliance.
- Update training content when equipment, processes, or safety findings change.
- Gather feedback to continuously improve training effectiveness.
##Required Education & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance or make‑to‑order assembly experience.
- Strong mechanical systems knowledge.
- Demonstrated coaching or training ability in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of mechanical safety standards.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
