What you will do:

Responsible for the integration, configuration, and monitoring of Building Operational Technology (OT) systems in the OpenBlue platform to the highest standards of quality. Analyzes the integration requirements and ensures seamless communication between various systems, as well as with the OpenBlue platform. Properly completes required project and service documentation. The successful candidate is an experienced technician with attention to detail and possesses excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Implements and manages communication protocols to ensure seamless data exchange between integrated systems.
  • Integrates and configures various Building Operational Technology (OT) systems into the OpenBlue platform:
    • Has and develops knowledge of a variety of electronic, digital, and computer systems protocols.
    • Has and develops ability to write logic statements, make test modifications, and configure systems in automation software.
    • Has and develops understanding of networking concepts, and communication abilities with Information Technology (IT) professionals to successfully implement OpenBlue Bridge on sites.
  • Analyzes requirements, configures, and deploys OpenBlue Enterprise Manager (OBEM) to optimize building operations and energy management.
  • Collaborates with the team’s energy manager to investigate and implement energy conservation measures within the OpenBlue platform.
  • Communicates with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. For remote work, communicates with clients during work hours. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with customers to become familiar with integration problems. Keeps customers informed on outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs.
  • Analyses various integrations found on sites and creates maintenance and contingency plans to maintain functionality of integrations in case of failure or modifications (i.e. upgrades).
  • Adheres to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards.
  • Compiles job documentation, such as certificates of completion, customer training forms, training certificates, and punch lists.
  • Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in JCI’s product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.
  • Provides support to the Integrated Operations Centre Support team and to other JCI-operated facilities to reduce operational risk.
  • Provides after-hours remote site support and emergency response on a rotating basis with other specialists.
  • Continuously optimizes the Building Systems for improved operation through the OpenBlue platform. Completes a range of recurring preventive maintenance tasks and systems checks to ensure the systems operate optimally.
  • Assists the site staff with validating that repair, and maintenance carried out on the systems meet organizational standards. The specialist assists with re-commissioning and functionality testing after repair work is completed.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $36.41 -45.64 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
