We’re looking for aCommunications Coordinatorto join our head office located inVernon, British Columbia. Our Vernon office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement, and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • 1-3 years ofprogressiveexperience in astrategic communicationsrole – new grads will also be considered.
  • University degree in Public Relations/Communications. -Strong writtenandverbal communicationskills with a keen attention todetail.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ananalytical mindand ability tothink critically. -Proactive approach, highlighting opportunities forcontinuous improvement.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven knowledge ofcommunications ethicsandbest practices.
  • Resilience to adapt to rapidly changing situations and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with allMicrosoft Office applications– familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and photo editing/management software is an asset, as is general ability to quickly adopt skills to use various design applications (i.e. Canva).
  • General knowledge of the forest industry or related business is an asset.

In this role you will:

-**Explore and promote innovative ideas that advance Tolko’s strategic plan,**assisting the communications team in developing and implementing strategies to achieve business objectives. -Provide stewardship of Tolko’s internal and external communication platforms, including TNet, Tolko.com, and Tolko’s social media channels. -Maintain and manage****Tolko’s internal communication templatesto ensure alignment with Tolko’s visual identity standards and guidelines.

  • Establish and support an editorial content calendar toproactively leverage reputational and communications opportunities. -Research and develop****story ideas and promotional opportunitiesby collaborating with operations staff and project team members. -Write and edit****contentto support internal and external communication initiatives. -Provide graphic design support****for internal communication tacticsand materials.
  • Oversee and maintain Tolko’s corporate photo library.
  • Support communication priorities by participating as a team member on assigned projects. -Plan and manage****events and stakeholder meetingsfor internal and external audiences, as appropriate.
  • Monitor media coverage and advise leadership on industry and company‑specific issues and emerging trends. -Support emergency response communicationsas required.
