HVAC MECHANIC (3 positions)
Currently there is a high need for an HVAC Mechanic in our Oxford County Area.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or designate, the HVAC Mechanic is responsible for assessing, installing, repairing and maintaining heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment and control systems; ensuring work is performed in a safe and effective manner and in accordance with all government regulations, to protect against injury, facility damage and school day losses.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
-
Ability to understand and respond to the needs of diverse school communities
-
Certified and maintain registration with Ontario College of Trades Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A) Program (or Provincial/Territorial equivalent with Red Seal Endorsement (RSE))

Possess and maintain a valid Gas Fitter I or II License by T.S.S.A.

Possess and maintain a valid CFC Recovery license
-
Ozone Depleting Substance Handling certificate
-
Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Drivers’ License
-
Clean driver’s abstract
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Five and one half (5-1/2) years of recent, related work experience in a commercial, industrial or institutional setting is required.
RATE OF PAY: $41.69 per hour
HOURS: 0630-1500, 40 paid hours per week

The recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons, pre-employment medical screening tests and proof of clean driving record. In accordance with regulations, the criminal record background check will be an ongoing requirement TVDSB employees every five years of their employment.
If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas or degrees assessed against Canadian education standards. This will enable you to provide proof of Canadian equivalency when applying for a job.
