ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT: The Maintenance Management Specialist ensures the successful delivery and adoption of the Hexagon EAM/GIS software by aligning system capabilities with ONTC’s maintenance management needs. This role bridges technical solutions and operational requirements, enabling departments to achieve their EAM goals through effective collaboration and product oversight.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the configuration, implementation, and optimization of Hexagon EAM/GIS to align with ONTC maintenance processes
  • Collaborate with maintenance divisions (Rail Mechanical, Infrastructure, Facilities, MCF/NRF) to translate business needs into system configurations and workflows
  • Conduct gap analyses, recommend enhancements, and ensure preventative and corrective maintenance processes are supported
  • Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance workflows
  • Facilitate workshops and user interviews to gather requirements and define user stories
  • Translate business needs into system requirements and testing criteria
  • Support change management, onboarding, and participate in Change Review Board meetings
  • Support the design and integration of IPSECA (identify, plan, schedule, execute, close, analyze) maintenance work management features
  • Participate in sprint planning, testing, and deployment cycles
  • Validate and accept system features prior to release, track enhancements and defect resolutions
  • Act as liaison between IT and business units to ensure product features meet expectations and deliver high customer satisfaction
  • Ensure high-quality maintenance data and reporting by collaborating with the Data and Performance team to develop dashboards, address data gaps, improve entry practices, and maintain consistency in classifications and metrics. Support business units in leveraging EAM data for continuous improvement
  • Deliver targeted training and documentation, respond to user support requests, and maintain feedback loops to continuously improve Hexagon EAM/GIS functionality and user adoption
  • Evaluate system performance and usage trends, benchmark against industry best practices, and recommend automation or upgrades to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced college diploma in Asset Management, Engineering, Maintenance Management, Business, a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Certification in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Business Analysis — such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) or Institute of Asset Management (IAM) certification, ITIL Foundation, or Agile Product Owner (e.g., CSPO) is preferred
  • 3 years’ experience in maintenance management, including, but not limited to: maintenance planning, maintenance scheduling, work execution, maintenance optimization and improvement
  • 2 years of experience with CMMS/EAM tools (e.g., Hexagon, SAP PM, Maximo), including system support or implementation
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, IT, and engineering
  • Understanding of workplace safety and asset risk principles in maintenance environments
  • Experience in end-user software design, including defining MVPs (minimally viable products) and supporting user adoption
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools)
  • Knowledge of change management principles and best practices for user adoption
  • Ability to train and support users with varying technical skill levels
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and leadership abilities.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Commitment to health and safety
