Core Responsibilities
Human Resources Operations
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and alignment with organizational values.
- Manage employee records, benefits administration, and HRIS systems.
- Lead recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
- Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinate payroll processing and leave management (FMLA, STD, LOA).
- Ensure facilitation of pre-hire checks and drug screenings.
- Maintain labor law postings and internal HR communications.
Health & Safety Administration
- Administer health and safety policies and ensure compliance with MOL Regulations, Industry Standards and best practices (COAA) and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct/Coordinate safety training programs including WHMIS, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Ergonomics, and Incident Management.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Provide support in injury management and incident investigation to Supervisors and Management team
- Collaborate with Exposure Based Safety Facilitator (EBS) and supervisors to deliver site-specific safety awareness.
- Monitor and report on safety metrics and participate in audits and inspections.
- Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement and communication.

Columbia's products are sold through a network of wholesale distributors, mass merchandisers and original equipment manufacturers from three distinct business units: plywood, veneer and imports.
At the end of 2006 Columbia has converted all of its standard hardwood plywood production to produce formaldehyde-free panels called PureBond®.
