Job Summary
The purpose of the job is to ensure a seamless inbound supply of raw and finished materials to all IGI facilitates and customers. This person will work under the tutelage of our Corporate Purchasing Manager and work with our suppliers to provide ongoing support to internal groups; Customer Service, Production Planning, Corporate Inventory, Supply Chain and all Production Facilities. Required to utilize all of our information systems; including JD Edwards, Power BI, Supplier Portals. This person will assist in managing the purchasing balance across our network of production sites while maintaining key corporate goals and objectives.
Responsibilities Purchase order entry along with scheduling arrival for Toronto location. Purchasing monitoring of corporate locations to maintain and enforce purchasing allocations Monitor and follow up with suppliers regarding strategic demand requirements and various corporate schemes (as required by our customer base). Maintain JD Edwards pricing integrity Vendor set ups. Assist with product/ raw material quotes requests from Production Planners, Business Development and occasionally Sales and Customer Service. Involved in inventory management with our bulk terminal network in addition to warehouses Back-up and assist other team members as required Project work as required.
Unique Knowledge and Experience: Excellent negotiating and problem-solving skills as it relates to supplier relations as well as our plants requirements Maintaining purchasing goals and balance across our network of plants. Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy work environment Able to learn the various software programs utilized in our large environment. Ability to prioritize workload Two to three years’ experience in purchasing or relative purchasing functions. Excellent computer literacy (All Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems; JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle) General knowledge of supply chain functions and current issues General knowledge of customs documentation Relevant inventory control management and purchasing

History of IGI The International Group, Inc. (IGI) has been in the wax business for over 75 years. Originally known as International Waxes Limited, IGI was founded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, by William Reucassel in 1943, and incorporated in 1945. William Reucassel built Canada’s first solvent de-oiling petroleum wax refinery on a 3-acre piece of property in Agincourt, Canada in 1945. It was at this refinery that an oily by-product of lubricant oil manufacture, called slack wax, was converted into what we now refer to as fully refined paraffin wax.
Today IGI owns and operates a fully integrated supply chain across North America, including unique US waxy crude production, multiple refineries, blend plants, terminals and transloading facilities. Our core competence is interacting and servicing customers with formulated solutions.
