Description:
Work involves performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks and operating the water filtration system at the Aquatic Centre. Duties also include using, maintaining, operating and repairing water tank filtration and treatment equipment. The salaried employee is mainly responsible for performing maintenance and cleaning tasks of the floors, walls, ceilings and attached equipment using appropriate scaffolding. The jobholder performs various tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, washing, waxing, scouring and polishing floors as well as dusting, emptying ashtrays and wastebaskets.

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of all public facilities, equipment, and buildings, in order to support sustainable development and improve citizens’ quality of life.
General responsibilities and goals:
The jobholder oversees the operation of water filtration and treatment equipment and the maintenance of water quality according to established standards. The jobholder is responsible for analyzing and interpreting data from the various water filtration and treatment system monitoring devices. He or she compiles the data on the appropriate forms and drafts the relevant reports as needed on the various analyses and studies conducted. He or she is also responsible for ensuring good order and compliance with the rules governing the areas for which he/she is responsible and for ensuring that they remain clean.
The jobholder will drive a light truck or van to go to the workplace and to carry tools or a small amount of equipment needed to do his or her job.
Job requirements:
The jobholder must have a high school diploma and several years’ relevant experience. She or he must also have a valid class 5 driving license.
Good knowledge of the following:

Spoken French and English, and written French.

Products used in building maintenance in sports and leisure facilities.

Modern maintenance and cleaning methods in sports and leisure facilities.

Practices used in maintaining public areas.

Filtration systems of aquatic facilities.
-
Rules governing sports and leisure facilities.

Methods for using scaffolding.
-
How to drive the motorized vehicle involved; its capacity and limits.
Skills:
- Using appliances such as vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, floor scrubbers, scrubber vacuum cleaners, washing machines and other similar equipment.
- Performing minor repairs with the appropriate manual tools.
- Operating a hydraulic forklift.
- Working at heights.
- Maintaining order and encouraging respect and authority.
- Demonstrating tact and courtesy.
- Operating the motorized vehicle.
Schedule:
Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
