In this role, you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Collect, clean, and centralize diverse datasets from mining operations for use in downstream applications, tools, and AI technologies
- Design engaging reports with compelling visualizations and key metrics, surfacing anomalies in mine productivity
- Collaborate with technical development team to run model tests, gather stakeholder feedback, and refine tooling. This may require up to 40% time spent at an operational site
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, coordinate cross-functional team meetings, and track milestones to drive the successful implementation of leading-edge analytical technology solutions
- Analyze operational challenges using data analytics techniques, and proactively suggest improvements or modifications to enhance mining performance and safety
- Assist in the development and optimization of scripts or tools that automate data extraction, processing, and visualization, contributing to the efficiency and scalability of our created applications, reports and tools
- Explore the use of generative AI in operational processes as a step-change enabler for our business
- Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Requirements:
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Mine Engineering with a curiosity about learning technology and AI tools
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions
- Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors. Some positions will be required to operate vehicles at our operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
