PFC Flexible Circuits Limited, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking a Press Operator who will build material stack-ups and operate press/lamination equipment per travelers, drawings, and work instructions. This individual will also set and record press parameters, inspect for defects, maintain traceability, and follow safety requirements.
This individual will support afternoon shift operations (4:00pm to 12:30am). Training will take place on day shift (7:30am - 4:00pm) for approximately 1-2 months. Responsibilities
- Create material stack-up for covercoat and stiffener lamination for flexible and rigid flex boards per traveler/route sheet, drawings, and work instructions (e.g., orientation, grain direction, adhesive type, thickness, and press recipe).
- Set up, operate & maintain pressing/lamination equipment (e.g., vacuum/hydraulic press) including platen cleaning, loading fixtures, vacuum bagging as required, temperature/pressure/time programming, and start-up checks.
- Unload press safely; remove panels/parts after pressing and separate from release materials; clean panels as required to remove adhesive squeeze-out/contamination; protect surfaces to prevent scratches, dents, or foreign material. Move pressed panels/parts to the next operation (e.g., trimming, drilling, imaging, plating) using approved handling methods, carts, and ESD/FOD controls where applicable.
- Document job completion by completing Production logbook/traveler, recording press recipe/parameters, cycle counts, start/finish times, yields, scrap, and rework details.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work area by following PPE requirements (e.g., lockout/tagout, chemical and hot-surface precautions) and all safety measures and regulations; keep workstations organized.
- Prepare materials for pressing/lamination (e.g., cutting covercoat, stiffeners, and release materials); verify part numbers, lot numbers, shelf life, and cleanliness requirements; label and stage kits to maintain traceability.

- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
- High school diploma desired. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Experience in flexible or rigid board industry desired. Experience with vacuum lamination, autoclave, or hydraulic press operations and press recipe control a plus.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
- Familiarity with diagrams and product schematics desired.
- Familiarity with flex/rigid-flex materials (polyimide, adhesives, coverlay/covercoat, stiffeners, release films) and common lamination defects desired.
- Strong attention to detail for material identifications, orientation, cleanliness, and documentation/traceability required.
- Ability to perform data collection and keep accurate records consistently is required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
- Time management skills and ability to multi-task required.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, reviewing travelers, and completing documentation required.
- Manual handling of panels, fixtures, and material rolls; ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to follow PPE and safety procedures while working near heated equipment, moving machinery, and vacuum/pressure systems.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the business language (English).
