What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively hunt for new business through cold calling, jobsite visits, networking, and referrals. Build, manage and grow a strong sales pipeline.
- Develop long-term relationships with contractors, project managers, engineers, and key decision-makers.
- Visit customer jobsites to understand excavation challenges and recommend the right trench safety and shoring solutions.
- Work closely with engineering partners and operations teams to ensure accurate, timely, and safe solutions for each project.
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and rental agreements with confidence.
- Stay on top of jobsite activity, market trends, and competitor offerings to position Cooper as the trusted partner of choice for underground construction projects.
- Represent Cooper Trench Safety at industry events, trade shows, and community functions
- Track activity and opportunities in CRM to manage your territory effectively.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, follow-up, and support.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven success in outside sales is preferred. Experience with underground construction (utilities, trenching / shoring, etc.) is a strong asset.
- Sales "hunter" mindset - we're looking for someone who is competitive, driven, and energized by building relationships and winning business.
- Confidence, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to read construction drawings is an asset.
- Strong organization and time-management skills; ability to work independently, manage your time, and own your results.
- Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; able to interact professionally with customers and teammates at all levels.
- Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms; familiarity with SRM software is a plus.
- Comfortable being on jobsites and engaging directly with customers - this position is 'on the road' and requires regular travel to jobsites across the GTA / Southern ON.
- Please note: Posted pay range is a target for combined base plus commission.
