This position will be an onsite role based out of our manufacturing site in Milton, Ontario.

What You’ll Do Essential Functions Include: Project Management: Lead the implementation and provide ongoing support of Design Automation (DA) initiatives for the engineering team at our manufacturing site in Milton. Serve as the primary liaison between Milton and IT on all DA-related topics, and participate in governance and quality assurance activities, such as conducting Poka-Yoke output reviews to identify design discrepancies.

Process Optimization: Oversee the development and maintenance of DA-Pick Tables for various product offerings; drive engineering process improvements through automation; ensure consistent BOM structures across product lines; and integrate automation tools with platforms such as Bid Manager and ERP systems to maintain robust and reliable data flows.

Training and Development: Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for all DA end users, providing additional guidance and resources as necessary for new implementations.

Industry Engagement : Contribute to digital transformation projects, including the adoption of cloud-based automation engines (e.g., PDAS 2.0) and AI-enabled engineering solutions.

Collaboration: Work closely with deployment teams across both Milton manufacturing facilities to ensure a successful DA tool rollout and utilization. Support and actively contribute to site initiatives, departmental objectives, and assume the role of Custom Order Product Specialist–Electrical Engineering as needed.

Data Management: Manage and update existing Power Automated tools and Power BI dashboards, developing new solutions as required.

The ideal candidate for brings a strong background in managing engineering automation projects from concept through implementation, including hands-on testing and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment. You demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing tools, safety protocols, and quality standards, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving setting. You are a confident communicator and effective trainer, capable of engaging both office-based engineering teams and production floor personnel. A passion for continuous improvement and a proactive approach to streamlining engineering processes are essential. You are committed to maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation of engineering procedures and automation standards. Staying current with emerging technologies and methodologies in design automation and manufacturing will be key to success in this role. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • University degree in Electrical or Software Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of computer engineering experience and/or electrical engineering experience in the manufacturing of low voltage power distribution assemblies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and BOM management.
  • Experience working with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within an 80 km radius of Milton, ON will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Competency in programming and troubleshooting PLC & HMI based systems.
  • Competency in AutoCAD Electrical and familiar with Autodesk Inventor.
