Job Description

Our Western Canada Team is looking to grow and expand, offering unique opportunities to engage with high-profile clients and drive transformative initiatives across diverse industries. We are searching for an IS Incident Management Subject Matter Expert to help our client strengthen their Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capabilities. This role will focus on reviewing existing incident management (including cyber), BCP, and DRP procedures, aligning with regulatory standards, and building a robust, integrated incident response framework.

Must be local to CALGARY and the surrounding area, as this position involves a hybrid work arrangement with some in-office presence required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing current incident management, BCP, and DRP processes and identifying regulatory obligations and industry standards (e.g., pipeline safety, environmental)

  • Conducting interviews with operational, IT, and emergency response teams to understand challenges and opportunities

  • Developing a formal incident management framework covering roles, responsibilities, and escalation procedures

  • Integrating BCP and DRP plans cohesively into the incident management lifecycle

  • Defining clear communication protocols for internal teams, regulators, and external stakeholders

  • Establishing performance metrics and reporting requirements to measure effectiveness

  • Providing training and organizational change management to ensure awareness and readiness

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Continuity, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in incident management, business continuity planning (BCP), and disaster recovery planning (DRP)
  • Proven expertise in developing, reviewing, and implementing integrated incident management frameworks, including cyber incident response
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory obligations and industry standards related to safety, environmental compliance, and IT security
  • Experience conducting interviews and workshops with operational, IT, and emergency response teams to identify gaps and opportunities
  • Ability to develop formal incident escalation procedures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities
  • Proficiency in integrating BCP and DRP plans cohesively into incident management lifecycles
  • Experience defining and implementing communication protocols for internal teams, regulators, and external stakeholders
  • Skilled in establishing performance metrics, reporting mechanisms, and continuous improvement processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead training and organizational change management initiatives to drive awareness and readiness
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working in regulated environments and managing complex compliance requirements

Other Skills & Experience:

  • Certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), or other relevant credentials

  • Hands-on experience with cyber incident response tools and platforms

  • Familiarity with safety-critical industries such as pipeline, energy, or environmental sectors
