About the role

The CanCap Group (“CanCap”) is a privately-owned Canadian national financial services company with multiple verticals across automotive, consumer, and merchant lending portfolios. We manage the entire lifecycle of the finance receivable — from credit adjudication through to contract administration, customer service, default management, and post charge-off recoveries.

We are a company of innovators. We learn from each other, respect each other, and create together. We strive to inspire our customers by continually understanding them, meeting their needs, and keeping them happily surprised. And we always do so with integrity.

When it comes to our customers, partners, and each other, we are always motivated by doing the “right thing.” We’re always looking to find the best people and the right methods that allow us to meet this goal — and we look to the future for growth.

What Your Day and Week Could Look Like

As the Manager, Vendor & Partner Governance, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that CanCap’s most important vendor relationships and partnerships operate within strong governance frameworks and regulatory expectations.

You’ll oversee the lifecycle of vendor management for the indirect auto lending business — from onboarding and risk assessments to ongoing performance monitoring and renewal — while also ensuring that CanCap meets its own contractual and service-level obligations to our partners.

This role blends operational discipline, regulatory awareness, and relationship management, providing oversight across third-party risk, business continuity, SLA performance, and compliance with B10/B13 outsourcing expectations.

If you’re someone who enjoys connecting dots between business performance, vendor oversight, and regulatory compliance — and you thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented financial services environment — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

Vendor Oversight and Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive vendor management framework in alignment with B10/B13 guidelines.
  • Maintain a centralized inventory of all vendors, contracts, renewal dates, and performance obligations.
  • Coordinate annual due diligence on all material vendors, including SOC 2 Type II reviews. Monitor and document vendor SLA adherence, service outages, and root cause analyses for operational disruptions.
  • Partner across the organization to assess and mitigate third party risks.

Contract and Performance Governance

  • Track and manage vendor contract terms, renewals, notice periods, and service-level commitments.
  • Ensure contractual deliverables align with performance and billing, working with business owners and Finance.
  • Maintain a robust audit trail for all vendor evaluations, renewals, and remediations.

Partnership Governance

  • Serve as the primary liaison for SLA tracking and reporting between CanCap and its partners.
  • Monitor CanCap’s own SLA performance and hold internal teams accountable for remediation plans.
  • Coordinate the submission of reports, attestations, and operational updates.
  • Track and validate completion of partnership obligations.
  • Work in cross-functionally to establish control reporting and monitoring programs.
  • Escalate non-compliance or performance gaps and work cross-functionally to implement corrective actions.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain a Vendor and Partner Governance Dashboard highlighting vendor performance, contract renewal status and key partner deliverables.
  • Prepare quarterly governance reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to automate vendor monitoring, SLA reporting, and risk tracking processes.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes (OSFI, privacy, information security) impacting vendor management and outsourcing.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in vendor management, risk management, or operational governance, preferably in financial services or fintech.
  • Strong knowledge of OSFI B10/B13 guidelines and third-party risk frameworks.
  • Experience reviewing SOC reports, control attestations, and vendor due diligence documentation.
  • Proven ability to track and interpret SLA metrics, drive remediation, and communicate across teams.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel and governance tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, risk, and compliance functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or related field

Soft Skills

  • You have a detail-oriented and compliance-driven mindset, but can balance pragmatism with precision.
  • You take initiative and thrive in environments where structure and accountability are evolving.
  • You’re comfortable navigating between operational execution and regulatory expectations.
  • You’re a collaborator who builds trust across departments and with external partners.

Reporting Relationship

This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Lending Operations with a dotted-line to Risk and Compliance, ensuring alignment between operational execution and governance oversight.
