About the role

We are seeking a Sales Executive to focus on new customer acquisition, and on driving expansion of existing accounts through upsell/cross sales, to also be involved in renewals. The Sales Executive position is a virtual role based Western Canada and will require excellent telephone and writing skills. You will draw on your high level of initiative and ability to apply strong business acumen to conduct a thorough needs analysis within your accounts. In addition, you should have the ability to develop trust, demonstrate credibility with all account stakeholders through your knowledge of Thomson Reuters’ products and services, and acquired knowledge of the relevant industry.

About the Role

In this role as a Sales Executive, you will:

  • Tailor client presentations to the unique needs of the individual account and articulate the proposals through ROI justification to shorten the sales cycle
  • Prospect new customers, validate their needs, shape product plans and engage TR support teams as needed
  • Attain sales and renewal targets and quotas on a monthly basis
  • Possess core knowledge across products within the sub-segment and engage Solutions Consultants where deep product expertise is required to drive to close
  • Support developing and executing territory growth strategies
  • Complete weekly sales performance reports and complete all CRM reporting in a timely and accurate manner
  • Drive strategic initiatives supported by assigned account team consisting of Sales Development Representative, Client Executive and Solutions Consultants to drive growth in assigned territory
  • Leverage sales automation tools, data insights and TR AI tools to engage prospects and expedite sales cycles (such as utilizing Salesforce)
  • Understand specific customer archetypes and needs which are most prevalent within the sub-segment and territory
  • Attend sales meetings and conventions as required

About You

You may be a fit for the Sales Executive role if your background includes:

  • A university degree (business or professional) or equivalent business experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in B2B sales of SaaS software solutions, preferably in the legal industry
  • Ability to develop new customer accounts requiring heavy prospecting, cold calling, closing ability
  • Successful sales experience with proven/consistent track record of quota attainment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, utilizing a CRM (Salesforce preferred) and overall technical aptitude
  • Knowledge of the legal framework within Canada will be considered an asset
