Position Description
The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial vehicles (PIVs) to move, load, and organize products throughout the facility. This role ensures accurate pallet handling, compliance with safety standards, and timely support for production and shipping activities. The operator partners with team members to maintain a clean, organized warehouse and deliver world-class service through efficient material flow and inventory accuracy.
What You Will Do
Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIVs) to load, move, and store pallets safely and efficiently. Wrap and secure pallets for storage or shipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Load and unload trucks, verifying freight for damage or missing items before signing off. Perform weekly audits of pallets in warehouse racks and submit documentation to supervisors. Assist with scrap, corrugate, and plastic material handling, including coordination with external service providers. Monitor inventory levels of non-inventoried consumables and trigger replenishment as needed. Communicate professionally with colleagues, vendors, and guests to support smooth operations. Practice 6S principles and adhere to all safety requirements in the work area. Respond effectively to changing priorities and perform additional tasks as assigned, including working in other areas or shifts when required.
What You Will Bring
High School diploma or GED. Experience in shipping and receiving; warehouse operations experience preferred. Forklift and Hazmat certifications required. Basic computer and math skills. Strong verbal communication skills in English. Familiarity with RF devices or scanners (preferred). High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions. Capability to lift to 40 pounds and handle frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions.
