Job Title: Vice President, Canadian Business Banking

As Vice President, you will lead a high-performing team to deliver exceptional client experiences, accelerate business development, and strengthen BMO’s market presence. This role is pivotal in driving profitable growth through strategic leadership, deep client relationships, and BMO wide collaboration.
Key Accountabilities:
Sales Leadership & Growth
- Set and execute market strategies to achieve ambitious growth targets across assigned portfolios.
- Lead and coach a team of Relationship Managers to deliver on client acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
- Monitor performance against business plans to reinforce sales discipline, identify gaps and strengths, and coach for consistent sales execution and high-quality client experiences.
- Lead execution of change plans, ensuring readiness and adoption through to drive successful implementation and lasting impact.
Business Development & Market Presence
- Build and expand relationships with key industry partners, associations, and centers of influence to position BMO as a trusted market leader.
- Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities through targeted prospecting and strategic networking.
- Represent BMO at industry events and in the community to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
One Client Collaboration
- Champion an integrated approach by collaborating across lines of business to deliver holistic solutions that meet client needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal partners, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Attract and retain top talent, ensuring succession readiness and career development opportunities.
Strategic Insight & Governance
- Provide market insights and recommendations to senior leadership to shape strategy and business priorities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and operational standards while maintaining strong risk management practices.
- Leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive business performance.
What You Bring
- Typically 9+ years of progressive and relevant experience, including business development or financial services leadership.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong business acumen with expertise in financial analysis, strategic planning, and market development.
- Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills with senior leadership, clients, and partners.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations and foster collaboration across multiple business lines.
