Description:

The Provincial Director of Allied Health Services provides strategic and operational leadership for allied health practice across all provincial service channels, ensuring safe, evidence based, patient centred care. The Director establishes provincial practice standards, oversees clinical protocols, supports interdisciplinary models of care, and drives quality improvement and innovation across therapy, social work, and other allied health professions. The role collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure alignment of allied health programming, workforce development, and service delivery within Primary Care Alberta. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director advances clinical practice, system integration, quality, and operational effectiveness across the allied health continuum.

Required Qualifications:

A Degree in Allied Health, Health Administration or Public Health (with applicable college registration mandatory). A master’s degree in a health-related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Five to seven years of allied health leadership and management experience in a healthcare environment of significant size, complexity and diversity. Strong leadership, strategic planning and change management expertise. Technical competency – experience delivering technical business solutions in information management, contact centre technology and telephony and clinical applications. Demonstrated skill in team development, conflict management and team resiliency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experienced in strategy development, leadership, and managing complex projects. Skilled in change management, quality improvement, and leading multidisciplinary allied health teams. Background in tele-triage, virtual care, and contact center operations. Proven ability to innovate, build strategic relationships, and use EMRs such as EPIC.
