YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM
YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM
Under the supervision of the Engineering Project Manager, the Engineering Project Manager-Intern will be responsible for assisting the Engineering team in building construction and install of new equipment at our new Poly-ISO production facility in Tillsonburg Ontario. They are responsible for coordinating and supervising subcontractors, inspecting work, troubleshooting issues and making sure all documentation is up to date as instructed.

THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE FOR YOU
- Coordinating on site work between construction and process installation subcontractors
- Making sure all on site work adheres to desired quality and safety standards.
- Providing drawings and documentation to subcontractors as needed
- Updating drawings and documentation as requested
- Troubleshooting on site issues as they arise to come up with effective solutions with the team
- Ensuring all trades have required equipment that Soprema is responsible to provide
- Reporting potential changes to budgets and timelines to the engineering manager
- Ordering and receiving parts/equipment for the project
- Attending meetings to stay up to date on all facets of the project
- Generally ensuring that the project stays on time and budget
- Actively participate in the startup of new equipment
- Enforce Soprema’s health and safety standards and norms
- Any other tasks related to project execution as directed by manager
THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited Engineering program
Knowledge and Competencies
- General Engineering knowledge
- Trouble shooting skills
- Ability to direct and collaborate with others at all levels of project (installers /foremen/ managers)
- Industrial and/or Construction experience (asset)
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge in basic computer programs
- Working knowledge in AutoCad
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to communicate with suppliers/contractors/workers/management via phone and email
- High attention to detail
- Courtesy and commitment
- Adaptability and flexibility to adjust priorities
- Teamwork ability
- Maintaining confidentiality in the workplace
Working conditions
- Work will be full time on a construction site in Tillsonburg Ontario which includes time in the following:
- Production floor for equipment and building work (Industrial/construction environment)
- Site trailer for office work
- Outdoors for various site work
- Good physical condition is required to supervise plant installations, go up and down stairs, ladders, carry boxes, stand for long periods of time and be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (work shoes or boots, glasses, safety helmet, vest, and other required equipment).
