Payroll Specialist (ADP Workforce Now)
Location: Burlington Ontario - Hybrid
Department: Human Resources
Base Salary Range: $30-$33/hour + benefits
Safe Management Group Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Finance Department and support payroll operations across our three divisions.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with payroll systems, values precision and accuracy, and has direct hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time, while also supporting payroll-related benefits deductions and payroll reporting. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance, data integrity, and a positive employee experience.

The Role
As Payroll Specialist, you will support the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 300 employees using ADP Workforce Now, including the payroll and time & attendance modules.
You will work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy, legislative compliance, and responsive service to employees.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 300 hourly and salaried employees in Ontario using ADP Workforce Now
- Validate payroll data including hours, earnings, deductions, and adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, including statutory deductions and remittances
- Process payroll changes including hires, terminations, and status updates
- Generate payroll reports and support internal reporting (as required)
- On-boarding new hires into ADP WFN
Time & Attendance
- Maintain and support ADP Workforce Now Time & Attendance
- Review timecards and investigate discrepancies
- Work with supervisors to resolve time entry and approval issues
Benefits Administration
- Process and reconcile employee benefit-related payroll deductions and employer contributions
- Ensure accuracy of benefit remittances to providers
- Support payroll-related benefit reporting and reconciliation
- Respond to employee inquiries related to benefit deductions on payroll
Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs) through Service Canada
- Support WSIB payroll reporting requirements
- Assist with year-end payroll activities including T4 preparation and reporting
- Maintain accurate payroll documentation and support audits

Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years payroll administration experience
- Direct experience processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now
- Experience supporting payroll for hourly employees and time tracking systems
- Strong understanding of Ontario payroll legislation and statutory deductions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now Time & Attendance
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation or currently working toward it
- Experience supporting payroll in a multi-site organization
Education
Post-secondary degree/diploma or certificate in one or more of the following:
- Payroll Administration
- Accounting
- Business Administration
- Human Resources
PCP certification through the National Payroll Institute is considered a strong asset.
