Job Mission

We are looking for a hands‑on Accountant who will be the primary finance and accounting resource for TAWI Canada Inc. In this office‑based role, you will own day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end and year‑end close, and end‑to‑end payroll administration for Canadian employees, working closely with the General Manager and colleagues across Piab Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day accounting: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close and prepare supporting schedules for reporting, audits, and tax filings.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payments, billing, and collections support.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and support cash‑flow management for Canadian bank accounts.
  • Administer end‑to‑end payroll for Canadian employees, working in collaboration with People & Culture and our external payroll provider.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation (e.g., CPP/QPP, EI, income tax, EHT, WSIB and equivalents) and complete year‑end filings (T4s, T4As, ROEs).
  • Assist with GST/HST returns and other tax‑related compliance.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate historical data, variance analysis, and commentary to the General Manager and regional finance.
  • Support internal controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and leverage our ERP systems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a small to mid‑sized business and/or industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with Canadian payroll (multi‑province, including Ontario and Quebec), statutory deductions, remittances, and year‑end filings.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and month‑end close.
  • Experience with IFRS (for group reporting) and Canadian GAAP/ASPE (for local statutory reporting) is an asset.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (current ERP) and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (upcoming ERP).
  • Comfortable being the primary finance contact in a small, hands‑on organization; strong accuracy, ownership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Working toward or holding a Canadian CPA designation (e.g., legacy CA, CMA, CGA or CPA) is considered an asset.
