Job Summary
Head, Data and Information Projects
- The Head is responsible for managing the activities of the Information Management Program.
- Manage the activities of the Section by developing plans, objectives, directing subordinates and evaluating work performance.
- Control and maintain the Information Management Program by evaluating and recommending changes to policy, standards, methods and procedures.
- Forecast review results and expectations and implement short/long-term program requirements and resource requirements.
- Liaise with Branches/Regions and Government Departments, participate on internal/external committees, and ensure compliance with legislation and standards, as required.
- Analyze and implement surveys, studies, and give advice to management.
- Consult and advise Regional managers on corporate information holdings practices and procedures.
- Lead, coach and manage employees directly and indirectly to respond to their needs and ensure excellent client service.
- Provide advice to direct reports/supervisors/team leaders on a wide range of subjects including but not limited to HR-related issues, coaching, conflict resolution, and advice on progress and career aspirations.
Head, Data and Information Stewardship
The Head is responsible for coordinating and supporting the development of Service policies that are in line with ministerial direction, legislation, Treasury Board Secretariat policies and other mandatory compliance regime.
- Manage the activities of the Unit by organizing, planning and coordinating projects to ensure efficient and effective delivery of Executive requirements and commitments.
- Direct employees by assigning and establishing work priorities, offering advice and guidance, reviewing and assessing productivity and evaluating work performance.
- Conduct complex research and analysis to mitigate the impact of external decisions on Service policies and develop strategies for improvement.
- Prepare materials for Executive review and approval that address policies that are subject to external and public scrutiny; be proactive and ensure a cohesive approach is taken Service wide to resolve related issues.
- Exercise quality control by reviewing proposed policy and/or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related documents to ensure that they are accurate and consistent with national standards and requirements.
- Coordinate sessions with Service Executive and Management, as well as with the Ministry and other domestic agencies, to consult on policies and bring forward any related concerns.
- Coordinate with the responsibility centre resource who is responsible for each policy, as well as with the task force responsible for major projects.
- Provide professional, strategic advice as well as recommendations and guidance to Service Executive and Management on sensitive policy and special project-related issues.
