About The Role We are seeking a QA Manager – Software Developer In Test to lead end-to-end QA and release management along with automation for our proprietary Booking Management System (BMS) and Salesforce (SF).

This is a hands-on role that balances technical contributions with leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will design, maintain, and execute automation frameworks while guiding release cycles and ensuring production readiness. Additionally, this role will serve as a Scrum Master / Project Manager - facilitating Agile ceremonies, ensuring effective sprint execution, and aligning priorities with business objectives.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 CAD annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities QA, Automation & Release Management

  • Lead end-to-end QA and release cycles, ensuring high-quality production deployments.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance BMS and SF test suites using Playwright and JavaScript.
  • Execute daily automated tests across multiple environments; triage failures and report outcomes.
  • Build scalable, reusable automation scripts for staging and production.
  • Ensure test automation is tightly integrated into AWS CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement monitoring/alerting for test failures and release issues.

CI/CD & Test Environment Management

  • Maintain stable test execution across AWS CI/CD workflows.
  • Optimize test performance and reliability in collaboration with Dev and QA teams.
  • Reduce false positives and maintain reliable automation pipelines.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Mentor and manage a team of automation and manual QA engineers (offshore).
  • Conduct reviews and enforce best practices in automation.
  • Partner with Dev, QA, and Product teams to align QA priorities with sprint/release goals.
  • Drive knowledge sharing on Playwright, CI/CD, automation, and release management.

Scrum Master / Project Management

  • Facilitate sprint ceremonies: planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Track sprint progress (velocity, burndown) and highlight risks/blockers early.
  • Partner with Product Managers to refine backlog and ensure requirements are test-ready.
  • Provide release readiness reporting to leadership, covering risks and quality gates.
  • Champion continuous improvement across QA and engineering processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in test automation (Playwright/JS, Selenium/Python, etc.).
  • Proven track record of leading QA teams and release management.
  • Strong AWS CI/CD pipeline experience for test automation and deployments.
  • Experience with E2E, API, UI, and performance testing in production environments.
  • Knowledge of test data management and test isolation practices.
  • Experience managing mid-to-large QA projects in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, capable of serving as Scrum Master.
  • Proficiency in Git, branching strategies, and Agile tooling (Jira, Confluence).
