About the role
SMC Communications is seeking an experienced and highly organized Account Manager (internally referred to as a Client Lead) to support a portfolio of hospitality and lifestyle clients.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in client-facing environments and enjoys building strong relationships while keeping projects organized and moving forward. The Account Manager will play a key role in ensuring client work is delivered seamlessly across PR, marketing, social media, and creative initiatives.
While this position collaborates closely with our PR, marketing, and creative teams, the primary focus is account leadership, client service, and project management. The Account Manager ensures clients feel supported, internal teams are aligned, and work is executed at a high standard.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and brings a strategic mindset to client relationships, confidently managing multiple accounts while contributing thoughtful ideas that help clients grow their brands.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership of client relationships, contribute to strategic thinking, and play an active role in shaping marketing and PR initiatives for some of Vancouver’s most exciting hospitality, restaurant, and food brands, with exposure to launches, media events, and brand storytelling

Key Responsibilities****Client Account Management
- Lead day-to-day client relationships across assigned accounts
- Build trust through responsiveness, strategic thinking, and consistency
- Ensure clarity across timelines, deliverables, and expectations
- Prepare and lead client meetings including agendas, presentations, and recaps
- Anticipate client needs and identify opportunities for growth
- Represent SMC Communications with professionalism and care
Project Management & Coordination
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and workflows across multiple accounts
- Coordinate internal teams including PR, marketing, creative teams, and leadership
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
- Track deliverables, approvals, and project progress
- Maintain clear and organized documentation across all workstreams
Strategy & Account Support
- Support the Head of PR + Marketing on strategic planning and campaign development
- Contribute to campaign and activation planning for client initiatives
- Help identify seasonal marketing opportunities and relevant brand moments
- Support scope planning, reporting, and account growth opportunities
- Ability to think strategically about client challenges and opportunities while managing day-to-day execution.
Campaign & Marketing Support

Coordinate integrated marketing initiatives across PR, social, and digital channels

Contribute to the execution of campaigns and brand activations

Ensure deliverables align with client objectives and brand positioning

Assist with launches, media events, and marketing activations
Requirements

3–5 years of experience in account management, marketing, communications, or agency environments

Strong client services mindset and relationship management skills

Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously

Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with cross-functional teams
-
Marketing or communications background preferred

Hospitality or lifestyle brand experience is considered an asset

Familiarity with ClickUp, Google Workspace, and social media platforms is an asset
Growth & DevelopmentThis role is designed with growth in mind. The Account Manager will have a clear pathway toward Senior Account Manager and expanded leadership responsibilities as experience and impact grow. SMC supports ongoing professional development through mentorship, hands-on learning, and exposure to a wide range of client work and campaign types.

Competitive salary: $70,000–$80,000 depending on experience
