We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented incumbent to support the bank’s growing ESG regulatory and voluntary reporting requirements. This role will be critical in leading the development and execution of robust Sustainability data collection, validation, and review processes to ensure high-quality, auditable, and decision-useful information. The successful candidate will play a key role in building a data assurance roadmap aligned with financial reporting standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., OSFI B-15, ISSB, CSRD). This role reports to the Senior Manager, Sustainability Reporting.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate data collection processes for the Sustainability Reporting Suite across multiple business units, ensuring alignment with internal controls and external reporting requirements.

Collaborate with data owners to identify, document, and communicate current data limitations, as well as recommend necessary process and system enhancements.

Challenge, validate, and review ESG data for accuracy, completeness, and traceability.

Develop and implement scalable processes and documentation standards that support ESG data readiness for audit and assurance.

Build strong partnerships with data owners, finance, risk, legal, compliance, and internal audit to drive data accountability and governance.

Design and execute a data external assurance long term strategy, including quality control routines, and materiality assessments.

Develop and implement a sustainability disclosure strategy which will help inform the bank's short- and medium-term disclosure roadmap

Monitor regulatory developments and translate ESG reporting requirements into actionable internal guidance and data frameworks.

Provide thought leadership and contribute to the evolution of ESG reporting systems, controls, and best practices.

Oversee the external assurance process and contribute to defining the key metrics to be included in short- and medium-term assurance efforts.
Qualifications:
-
CPA or similar designation would be an asset
-
Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Sustainability, Data Science, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data management, financial reporting, risk, audit, or ESG reporting.

Experience conducting third party assurance with large accounting firms is considered an asset.

Strong understanding of data governance, internal controls, and assurance frameworks (financial or non-financial).

Experience working with complex data systems, dashboards, and reporting tools

Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., ISSB, TCFD, CSRD, OSFI B-15).

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across business lines.

Proven ability to think strategically while executing with precision.
