Nova Scotia Power is seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-focused Access and Controls Analyst to support the ERP transformation project.

Reporting to the Application Lead, this position will be responsible for managing user access across ERP and financial platforms, maintaining segregation of duties (SoD) matrices, and ensuring adherence to SOX controls. The role will also coordinate access provisioning and deprovisioning, respond to audit requests, and work closely with IT Security, HR, and application teams.

Key Elements Of This Role Include

  • Managing access provisioning and deprovisioning across Oracle Fusion ERP and related financial systems, maintaining Role Based Access Control configurations, and coordinating with HR and IT during onboarding, offboarding, and role changes
  • Maintaining and updating the segregation of duties (SoD) matrix, collaborating with application and control owners to ensure appropriate role assignments, and supporting remediation of SoD violations
  • Executing recurring User Access Reviews and Privileged Access Reviews, collecting and maintaining audit evidence, and responding to internal and external audit requests
  • Monitoring access control activities, validating system-level controls, supporting control testing, and tracking and reporting on control deficiencies, audit findings, and remediation plans
  • Maintaining access control documentation, ensuring alignment with SOX requirements and internal standards, and participating in walkthroughs and control design reviews with auditors and stakeholders

These Skills Will Make You Successful

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Experience in a business or technology operational support role
  • Experience in access management, IT compliance, or ERP security

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of SOX ITGC controls, segregation of duties, and audit processes
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) tools and HRIS integrations
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., utilities, public sector)
  • Oracle certifications in Risk Management or Security considered an asset
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms

We provide 95 per cent of the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Nova Scotia, and serve over 500,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers across the province.

Our 1,700 dedicated, safety-focused employees help manage $5 billion worth of generation, transmission and distribution assets and produce more than 10,000 gigawatt hours of electricity each year.

We use a fuel mix including hydro, tidal, wind, coal, oil, biomass and natural gas to generate electricity. Our facilities can generate as much as 2,453 megawatts of electricity that is delivered across 32,000 km of transmission and distribution lines throughout Nova Scotia.
