The Discipline Team Lead – Electrical Engineering (Ports) based in Halifax, Canada, is responsible for leading a team of electrical engineers and designers in delivering technical excellence on port and maritime infrastructure projects. This role combines technical oversight, team leadership, project management, and client engagement to ensure successful project outcomes in alignment with client requirements, safety standards, and Arcadis’ commitment to sustainability and digital innovation. The Team Lead is a key liaison between the electrical discipline and multidisciplinary project teams, supporting both day-to-day delivery and the long-term growth of the Ports practice.

Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee the design, specification, and integration of electrical systems for ports and maritime facilities, including power distribution, lighting, communications, and controls. You will manage project resources, schedules, and budgets for the electrical discipline, ensuring quality and technical excellence in all deliverables. Collaboration is central, as you will coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and environmental teams to deliver integrated solutions. The Team Lead is also responsible for mentoring and developing junior and intermediate engineers, allocating tasks, and providing technical guidance to foster a high-performing, collaborative environment. Client engagement is a key aspect, involving regular communication with clients, stakeholders, and authorities, as well as supporting proposal development and technical presentations. You will champion the adoption of innovative, digital, and sustainable approaches in all aspects of project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset)
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Nova Scotia and or other Atlantic Canada provinces
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with significant exposure to port, marine, or heavy infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable industry standards
- Experience designing power distribution, lighting, grounding, automation, and communications systems for port environments
- Proficiency in design platforms and software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, and SKM
- Demonstrated team leadership skills, including mentoring and developing staff
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, including resource and budget management
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Commitment to health, safety, sustainability, and innovation
- Experience with business development and proposal support considered an asset

The salary range for this position is $95,900 - 137,000 The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
