Part-time**, Permanent****Counsellor/Therapist**

Woolwich Community Health Centre (WCHC), a multi-site health centre with locations in St. Jacobs, Wellesley and Linwood, requires a Counsellor/Therapist**(****30 hours per week). This position will provide regular, weekly counselling hours atALL**locations. Working one evening per week is a requirement for this position.

The Counsellor/Therapist complements the health centre’s inter-disciplinary team by providing counselling services for complex psychosocial and emotional needs of clients, and their families when appropriate. This position will be involved in group facilitation and provide health education sessions on mental health topics.

Qualifications**:**

  • Master’s degree in a recognized mental health profession from an accredited educational institution, and current membership in a regulated professional body (i.e., the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and/or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).

  • A minimum of 3 years psychotherapy experience at the post-master’s level, with all age groups, individual, group, marriage and family therapy, as well as familiarity with and experience in group facilitation.

  • Counselling experience with children and youth is an asset.

  • Experience providing trauma-informed counselling is an asset.

  • Experience in providing counselling in a variety of settings (e.g. in person, via telephone, virtual counselling)

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interprofessional team environment, to present the counselling perspective pertaining to individual, family and community health, and organizational matters.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Communication skills in Plautdietsch an asset.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish rapport and effective therapeutic relationships with distressed clients; effective working relationships with co-workers, external professionals, and members of the community; and a high degree of flexibility/adaptability.

  • Demonstrated initiative and innovation in developing or contributing to community programs particular regarding equity promotion and from a culturally humble perspective.

  • Eligibility to supervise master's students, or commitment to achieving eligibility requirements for such supervision during first year of employment.

  • Starting Salary of $65,045 to $78,261 per year (pro-rated to working status)
