Our family run business has now grown over the years into a multi-faceted operation, Gruppo Terroni, encompassing restaurants, bakeries, commissaries and retail in Toronto and Los Angeles, operating under the brands Terroni, Sud Forno, Spaccio, Cavinona Wine Agency and La Bottega di Terroni online shop.

What we are looking for:
A dedicated and experienced Pastry Cooks to join our diverse and passionate culinary team at our Spaccio East Commissary location in downtown Toronto, for the summer season. Spaccio East is our open concept commissary, storefront and fully licensed café restaurant with two-floors of full service dining space. In this unique and beautifully designed space, customers can eat and drink while overlooking the kitchen as our chefs and cooks are busy making breads, pastries, pastas and other goods for our locations and for purchase at the storefront.

Description of Role:
The ideal candidate will bring both first hand cook experience baking and making pastries, as well as a committed and professional team spirit. Reporting to the Senior Pastry Cook, you will participate first hand in the daily production of a variety of pastry items, baked goods and gelato. This is a full time, day shift position.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with baked goods and/or a certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or relevant field.
  • Skills to competently prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, biscotti, croissants, bread etc.
  • Working knowledge of different types of pastries, desserts, cake & decorating.
  • Ability to successfully and consistently follow standardized recipes.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, production environment.
  • Be highly organized and able to multitask
  • Open availability
  • Possesses professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
