What you'll be doing
This position as a Wireroom Warehouse Associate, you will work as part of a team to ensure that products are accurately picked, cut, shipped, and received. This position is based in the Gerrie Distribution Centre in Burlington. You will also be responsible for:
Organization of the wireroom
Interface with Gerrie Branches for rushes and special requests
Prioritize workload and work in a safe and effective manner
Responsible for accurate receipt and put away of all wire products inbound on a daily basis
Work with Manager to prioritize all orders, and other work duties
Ensure purchasing department or branches are notified of any discrepancies on orders, email printed and attached to product.
Urgent/Rush orders are to be processed in a timely manner
Ensure the quality of all assigned tasks, through a double check, spot check or quality assurance processes
Resolve or escalate any issues that affect productivity or flow
Create and maintain open lines of communication with Team Lead by keeping them informed of the status as required
Participate in continuous improvement and CARE initiatives
Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the table
Interested in pursuing a career in the electrical industry
Material handling experience is an asset
Counterbalance and reach truck experience & certification is an asset
You have good communication skills and like the idea of working as part of a team
Cable cutting experience
Intermediate computer skills
Effective numeracy skills
Ability to work in a face paced environment
Previous experience working in a warehouse is an asset
