The incumbent must provide the team with expertise and support to ensure that all reconciliation activities and essential tasks are carried out properly and in a timely manner. Tasks include the analysis and reconciliation of various transactions across different suspense accounts and internal accounts related to multiple products and systems.

Detail-oriented, meticulous, and disciplined in performing account reconciliation tasks within their general ledger responsibilities. Curious, analytical, and attentive to detail. Has a solid understanding of the nature of the operations and transactions being processed. Ensures high-quality work and can quickly adapt to shifting priorities and evolving challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reconciliations of assigned financial and non-financial transactions.
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies by taking necessary actions with the relevant departments and follow up to ensure variances do not recur.
  • Demonstrate mastery and understanding of the product being processed and respond accurately and promptly to questions from the team and manager. Show initiative in seeking out answers when not readily available.
  • Identify reconciliation issues and propose solutions.
  • Carry out daily tasks related to the processes being handled.
  • Ensure proper documentation of processes and appropriate archiving of reconciliation records in accordance with the team’s internal standards.
  • Communicate potential issues, limitations, and problems to team members and the manager.
  • Manage the shared inbox related to the product being processed.
  • Contribute to special projects and/or continuous improvement initiatives, and perform any other tasks related to the role.

Qualifications

  • Banking experience at Laurentian Bank preferred.
  • College diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting or business administration within a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products (mortgages, investment loans, other loans, and other products) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in the following software: Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and ease with various systems such as SIBL/OSV, T24, CPS, and MONETIS.
