Position Description:
Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Intermediate Civil/Structural Designer.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated civil and structural designs for oil and gas facilities in line with project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop and update 2D drawings and 3D models for foundations, structural steel, pipe racks, and equipment supports using AutoCAD and related tools.
- Prepare and check construction deliverables such as pile layouts, foundation and framing plans, sections, and connection details to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Incorporate design revisions, engineering markups, and feedback throughout all project phases to maintain current and accurate design packages.
- Generate and maintain bills of materials, material take-offs, and drawing documentation to support procurement, fabrication, and construction.
- Participate in design and model reviews and coordinate with drafting leads to ensure consistency, constructability, and quality across all deliverables.
Requirements:
- Civil or Structural Engineering Technology diploma with 5–8 years of civil/structural design experience in the oil and gas or heavy industrial sector.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as Civil 3D, Advance Steel and CADWorx.
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively and manage deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Solid understanding of structural steel and concrete detailing, including foundations, piles, and equipment supports, and working knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor data and produce accurate design deliverables such as BOMs and material take-offs.
- Experience in EPC/EPCM environments considered an asset.
