JOB DESCRIPTION
Terms: Full-Time to begin, with potential for reduced work schedule
The Accountant is responsible for the administration of accounts receivable, monthly accounting and reconciliation processes, charitable donation receipting, and financial reporting support for the School and its related entities. The position works closely with the Senior Controller to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, strong internal controls, and effective support of the School's operations and fundraising activities. Education and Training
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Accounting diploma, degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Sage 300 or comparable accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
- Experience with account reconciliations, month-end processes, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting audits and preparing working paper files.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Salary Range: $75 000 - $90 000, dependent on experience and qualifications
