ENTRUST Canadais an engineering consulting firm with offices in Calgary and Regina that provides design and engineering services to the electric power delivery industry. Our expertise includes all aspects of Transmission, Substation and Distribution systems for voltages ranging from 4160V to 500 kV.

ENTRUST Canada is currently seeking anEngineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Transmission Teamin Calgary. We offer a dynamic work environment with a highly experienced technical team, where you will be offered guidance and hands-on training and continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.

The successful candidate will assist in thedesign of overhead high-voltage transmission linesby applying applicable engineering principles, standards, and best practices. This role involves completing andreviewing detailed engineering calculationsto address project challenges and develop complete,competent transmission line designs. The individual will use a variety of industry tools and software, includingPLS-CADD, ETAP, and CDEGS,to support design development. Responsibilities also include preparing estimates, material take-offs, scopes of work, survey packages, and construction-ready design packages, as well as assisting in the preparation of engineering reports. The role requiresreviewing designsagainst applicable industry codes, standards, and internal standards, and conducting site visits for field reconnaissance during the design phase and field inspections during construction to support successful project execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Alberta

• Experience using CAD drafting tools such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.

• Strong computer design skills, the ability to learn new software packages efficiently, and retain and apply on the job training

• Previous design experience with substation, transmission or distribution lines is considered an asset.

• Previous experience with CDEGS or PLS CADD software is considered an asset

• Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits
