You as a Project Director (Buildings Group) will:

  • Champion and deliver successful projects through effective leadership, inspiration and support of the project teams.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership role in the development of project proposals to ensure that a winning solution is developed and accurately reflected in the bid.
  • Develop, monitor and manage the budgets through the lifecycle of the projects’ pursuit and execution.
  • Identify and manage risk throughout the projects’ lifecycle, ensuring that financial reporting addresses risks while maintaining objectivity.
  • Ensure that the quality and standards of EllisDon are maintained by the project team in all facets of our work; be an ambassador for EllisDon’s brand.
  • Direct and manage consultants and contractors to ensure that all project commitments, milestones and deliverables are monitored and met.

Is this the right role for you?

  • A solid knowledge of ICI construction and experience delivering capital projects valued in excess of $150M.
  • Highly developed project management skills including financial reporting, scheduling, and quality management.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to understand details while leading and managing through others.
  • A comprehensive understanding of contract law and deep experience in resolving complex commercial issues.
  • An interest and focus in developing skills and providing challenging career opportunities to staff of all levels.
  • Intelligent, lateral thinker with the ability to identify solutions to complex problems and a bias for action.
  • Design-build experience is desired, IPD or Alliance experience is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • B.Sc in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or applicable academic and work experience.
  • Professional Engineer designation and/or MBA considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel to multiple projects within a 4 hour radius.
