About the role

The Impact the Philanthropy Associate, Donor Services can make:

The Philanthropy Associate, Donor Services plays a key role in ensuring exceptional donation administration and outstanding customer service for Covenant House Vancouver’s supporters. Through accurate and efficient gift processing, strong attention to detail, and meaningful donor stewardship, the Associate directly supports fundraising success. This role also offers opportunities to build relationships with donors and contribute to a supportive, collaborative Philanthropy team committed to innovation, learning, and shared purpose.

How you will contribute:

  • Manage incoming mail and donations with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring all daily, weekly, and monthly processing deadlines are met

  • Accurately capture donor and gift information in Raiser’s Edge

  • Provide administrative support to the Philanthropy team

  • Serve as a frontline contact for donors, responding to inquiries by phone and email in a professional and timely manner

  • Provide secondary support and guidance to temporary staff during peak fundraising periods

  • Perform other duties as required to support departmental needs

This position has the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight schedule most months of the year, where you’ll work longer days for 9 days and earn every other Friday off.

Compensation:

The successful candidate can expect a starting salary of between $41,095.60 and $51,378.60 depending on factors such as internal equity, experience, competencies, and education. Once hired, salaries are reviewed annually following the annual performance review and successful employees have the opportunity for their salary to increase, over time, up to the maximum of the pay band, currently $61,661.60.

Who are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • 1–2 years of related administrative experience
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge is an asset
  • Experience working in a non-profit or office environment is considered an asset
  • Experience with database management and gift processing is an asset
  • Demonstrated interest in philanthropy and willingness to learn new skills

Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service skills and a donor-centered mindset
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong time-management abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable navigating and working in multiple databases
  • Proficient navigating multiple databases and systems
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Passion for supporting youth experiencing homelessness
  • Demonstrated reliability and follow-through
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and quality in high-volume or routine work
  • Adaptability to different systems, processes, and workflows
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in philanthropy
  • Strong alignment with Covenant House’s mission and values, including supporting youth experiencing homelessness
