We are looking for a Technical Marketing Manager - Seed Solutions (Contract) to join our Agricultural Solutions team.

The Technical Marketing Manager – Seed Solutions assumes leadership and responsibility for all technical elements (labels, technical editing, product use direction, training materials, recommendations, and technical positioning) of assigned products.

As a Technical Marketing Manager - Seed Solutions (Contract), you create chemistry by...

  • Developing technical information for marketing, leading technical marketing and product positioning, including developing technical information and sustainable recommendations for labeling and business plans.
  • Managing budgets and coordinating large-scale testing and research with researchers, influencers, and Brand Managers.
  • Acting as the primary contact for media/PR and building an influencer/advocate network to support business goals.
  • Protecting market share by differentiating offerings and supporting commercial product development.
  • Delivering technical training and providing direction and support to Technical Service Representatives while enabling the sales team to handle technically difficult product inquiries.
  • Increasing sales by improving technical understanding and credibility with customers and offering ongoing technical support for product inquiries.
  • Using field and university research to develop tools that support marketing and sales tactics, increasing the value of BASF brands (and thereby sales), and providing broad access to “how-to” information to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Providing technical leadership for long-term strategic planning, particularly as it relates to proprietary technology verses competitor technology, and mentoring and coaching commercial peers.
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans for each KIP, including joint research and graduate student projects, while partnering with key influencers and institutions and leading major research initiatives.
  • Making GIA recommendations and acquiring external data to support brand positioning, encouraging positive statements about BASF brands, creating demand, and differentiating against competitors.
  • Serving on academic or trade/grower association boards and providing business-to-business technical leadership across Marketing, Sales, Biology, Regulatory, Formulations, channel partners, and KIPs.

If you have...

  • A M.Sc in Agriculture/Bilogy with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, plant pathology or related discipline with 8 years of experience in Sales, Tech Services, Research or related is preferred. Candidates with a B.Sc and a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in Sales, Tech Services, Research or related functions will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend product positioning based on evaluating data and customer needs.
  • Experience in the Agriculture industry, working with and understanding growers, distribution/retail customers, universities, or consultants would be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills combined with a passion for making a positive difference in the agriculture industry.
