As a Senior Platform Analyst, you will play a key role in solution design, configuration, and development of cloud-based platforms that support Strathcona County’s services. This role is suited to someone with a developer mindset who enjoys working across analysis, configuration, and development, and partnering closely with analysts to design and deliver scalable solutions.
You will contribute to the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms such as Jira and Microsoft Dynamics 365, applying modern DevOps and delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to design technical solutions, translating business requirements into scalable, supportable implementations
- Configure, extend, and develop solutions within cloud-based platforms, balancing low-code configuration with custom development where appropriate
- Manage and maintain services, documentation, updates, and lifecycle processes to ensure reliability, performance, and security
- Implement changes in alignment with ITIL practices (Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management)
- Ensure clients receive technical support for ITS services by developing procedures, creating reporting mechanisms, and collaborating with application and data custodians as well as promote end-user self-sufficiency
- Collaborate with ITS teams, business partners, and vendors to address priorities and deliver smooth, coordinated implementations
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding system status, risks, and planned maintenance impacts
- Proactively advise, participate and implement best practices, continuously improving service delivery and aligning with the latest industry standards and technological advancements
- Coordinate project-based work to identify and implement operational efficiencies and ensure continuous improvement in service delivery
- Stay informed, advise and provide education to staff of technology and industry trends
- Manage and integrate large, complex datasets from diverse sources
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Computing Science, Business Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT environment or a Information Technology or Business Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of directly related IT experience
- Experience working in a developer, full-stack, or hybrid analyst/developer role, with strong understanding of software design principles
- Experience working with enterprise platforms including: Atlassian suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management) for administration, configuration, and workflow design
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and experience contributing to iterative delivery environments
- Understanding of DevOps principles, including automation, CI/CD, and security by design
- ITIL Foundations certifications would be considered assets
- Ability to think strategically while managing technical detail, risk, and opportunity
- Comfort working in a dynamic, multistakeholder environment with competing priorities
- Proven ability to work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation and customer service skills
- Experience working in a Microsoft-based office environment, including MS Teams
- Overtime as required and on-call as required
