POSTING CLOSE DATE: Open Until Filled THE OPPORTUNITY Join BCI as a Senior Analyst or Associate in Victoria, BC, and help advance financial reporting across increasingly complex investment structures. This newly created role reflects the team’s expanding scope, including the integration of certain ESG reporting into financial reporting processes. You will support strong audit and governance standards while contributing to system enhancements, modern reporting practices, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. The role suits someone with strong IFRS technical knowledge, accounting precision, and an interest in improving reporting through data and technology. Public practice experience is considered an asset. The position will be filled at the Senior Analyst or Associate level based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH The Finance department is part of BCI Operations and provides trusted financial information, analysis, and advice to internal and external clients. The team oversees investment and corporate accounting, valuations, financial reporting, budgeting, tax, procurement, finance operations, investment performance, and analytics, working closely with internal business partners, auditors, and external advisors. Investment Accounting & Reporting is responsible for pooled fund and program financial reporting, daily net asset value validation across asset classes, IFRS accounting matters, and financial reporting to BCI’s Audit Committee, Board, and related committees. The branch also supports private market valuations, tax filings, internal controls audit work, and external auditor engagement. WHAT YOU BRING Professional accounting designation, such as a CPA, or equivalent experience 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; 4+ years for the Associate level Experience in investment, securities, or financial reporting accounting Strong Excel skills and experience with an industry-standard accounting platform Strong planning, organization, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines Collaborative communication style, with a continuous improvement mindset Associate Level Additional Requirements In-depth exposure to IFRS, particularly IFRS 9 Financial Instruments and IFRS 13 Fair Value Measurement Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting the development of team members Preferred Audit or financial statement experience in an IFRS reporting environment Experience with Workiva or similar reporting tools Working knowledge of analytical, automation, or AI tools such as Excel VBA, Power BI, Python, or AI-enabled solutions WHAT YOU WILL DO You will support timely, accurate internal and external financial reporting across BCI’s investment structures. At the Senior Analyst level, you will focus on hands-on preparation of reporting deliverables, support junior team members, and identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency. At the Associate level, you will take on broader accountability, act as a subject matter expert, lead more complex deliverables and improvements, and represent the team in cross-functional work. At both levels, you will collaborate with Investment teams, Risk, Valuations, Investment Accounting, external auditors, and other partners to deliver high-quality reporting outcomes. Prepare and review financial statements, portfolio carbon footprint reporting, and other internal and external deliverables Support external audits by coordinating deliverables, responding to queries, and providing clear evidence Analyze IFRS matters for new investments, structures, and financial instruments, including research on new standards and related recommendations Maintain strong knowledge of clients, asset classes, investment structures, reporting requirements, and finance processes Turn financial data into business insight through quantitative and qualitative analysis Identify risks, strengthen controls, document procedures, and support audit and risk management standards Improve reporting processes, tools, and solutions, including Workiva, SimCorp Dimension, automation, and AI-enabled opportunities Partner with Business Support Analysts and cross-functional teams on requirements, testing, and implementation of reporting solutions WHERE YOU WILL WORK This role will be based in our office in downtown Victoria, BC. Relocation support is available if needed. BCI is an in-person, collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely up to one day per week. SALARY RANGE The annualized base salary range for the Senior Analyst role is CAD $93,000 to $110,000. For the Associate role, the range is $106,000 to $128,000.  BCI offers a competitive total rewards package, including a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, and paid time off. We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we operate and with consideration for internal equity and job structure. The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity. We aim for actual pay to be around the market median for expected performance and the upper quartile for excellent performance. Actual salaries may vary based on experience and expertise.
